Apollo 11, the mission that landed men on the Moon. Every preceding mission over the last few years had been leading to this moment in the summer of 1969. The equipment had been designed and tested, qualified and human-rated. Within the span of a year man had first flown beyond Earth orbit then nearly to the surface and back with the Lunar Module. All there was left to do was to actually attempt a landing.
Astronauts Michael Collins, Buzz Aldrin, and Neil Armstrong would crew the first mission to make the attempt. Apollo 11 was launched on July 16, 1969, arriving at the Moon three days later. Neil and Buzz piloted the Lunar Module Eagle down from lunar orbit, enduring multiple guidance computer alarms throughout. Armstrong took manual control during the last phase of the landing, steering the lander away from large boulders and craters. With apparently only seconds of fuel remaining, Armstrong found a clear area to land and set the Eagle down for a safe landing in the Sea of Tranquility. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin soon became the first humans to set foot on the Moon.

Instructions

All instructions from launch to landing to reentry and splashdown are written down in the two Imgur albums below.

Saturn V + CSM flight

Put your crew in the first three slots. For the cargo make sure each kerbal is carrying a jetpack. Parachutes optional.

LM landing/ ascent and reentry

Move your kerbals into the LM via EVA. Right click on the kerbals and have them leave their command seats. Fly them over close to the LM and have them board the seats located inside. Before dismounting make sure the kerbal is not facing down directly towards the Mun, otherwise they may spawn inside the vehicle and get stuck
