The Tern

is a nuclear SSTO-capable ISRU-equipped spaceplane. Upon orbiting, over 3 km/s dv is available for transfer.
It carries up to 20 kerbals and full ISRU gear with up to 7 km/s dv when full of LF.
It is named after the Arctic Tern, the bird with the largest migratory distance.
It comes configured with four SRBs to maximize fuel to orbit. Orbit is still possible in a true SSTO configuration.
Note that while there is a standard docking port on the nose, no verner thrusters are installed.

Flight Instructions:

1. Use action group 1 to activate engines.
2. Ascend slowly to 1 km altitude.
3. Engage SRBs by staging. Maintain altitude. Stage again to jettison SRBs.
4. When 440 m/s speed attained, begin ascent. Do not let speed fall below 440 m/s.
5. Level off at 10 km.
6. When 1400 m/s attained, pull up. Engage NERV with action group 3.
7. When RAPIER thrust falls to 50 kN per engine, switch mode with action group 2.
8. Continue ascent until AP = 80 km. Kill engines.
9. Circularize.
