A mod drone space ship for collecting things from space and bringing it home. Ultimately named Orbital Trash Collector-x2. Built with 51 of the finest parts, its root part is nuclearEngine.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.2.2.
This drone ship has everything for safely recovering stuff from space. Its main feature is Inline Hangar from Allista’s Hangar Mod, but it is also equipped with Klaw attached to IR Adjustable Rail, so you can capture things in two different ways. (However, please do not cheat by first filling out the hangar and then putting things into its aperture by klaw)
The craft should be launched to orbit by a rocket or a space plane in stowed configuration - main wings and canards all are foldable. When in orbit, it has some decent dV amount available for maneuvering and scavenging debris from entire Kerbin neighborhood.
After that, it could land on the runway or just put unwanted debris into suborbital trajectory and raise its own orbit.
If you decide for landing, be aware of limited propulsive capabilities of LV-N engine while in dense atmosphere, however, it can be used to adjust your descent trajectory for gliding closer to your landing airport and for limited time can keep you airborne when maneuvering for landing.
Keep in mind, than minimum control speed is 100 m/s, but may vary depending on how heavy the load is. There’s a small fuel tank in the nose section for balancing the CoM for landing the empty craft.
(The craft was not tested with stock aero, only with FAR, and could not be considered very aerodynamically stable, so Atmosphere Autopilot is recommended; also it would better to abstain from any kind of aerobatics)
