Light crane, mainly for low gravity planets and moons. Built with 84 of the finest parts, its root part is B9.Structure.P2.Surface.
This is cheaper and more capable version of this crane, featuring two harpoons for reliably tying itself to the ground, as well as reinforced lower beam with help of IR Active Struts.
See this post to make Active Struts work
Guaranteed lifting capability on Kerbin with partially deployed arm is 4.5 tonnes.
To operate, widen crane legs, lift it a bit so wheels are not touching the ground and fire both harpoons (
Eject button on winch action menu). Raise upper beam, then lower beam (or both simultaneously), extend arm as required, rotate and release the cable.
Don’t forget to detach harpoons when you’re done.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.3.0.
You may notice two KAS ports on the very top of the crane - they are intended for transportation by a space plane with downward opening cargo bay. Just drop them if you don’t plan that kind of delivery.
