This is our aproximation of the M-28/M-29 Davy Crockett smothbore recoilles gun, launching the W54 nuclear warhead, which had as launching vehicle… a Willys jeep.
No, I’m not making this up.
This most Kerbal weapon system ever is known in some circles as The atomic Froilán
(after the first grandson of the emeritus King of Spain) because it allows you to shot yourself in the foot - with a nuke.
We made two Kerbal versions of this awesome weapons system, both with Kerbal scale ranges (read: nowhere near their real-world counterparts).
Our M-29 version has a somewhat similar range to the real-world M-28, being able to reach the KSP from the launchpad. This version is loaded with a purely cosmetic nuclear blast effect. In our lore, this version uses a neutron bomb to eficiently cleanse the KSC of any bacterial life, virical life, or actually any kind of life in case of a disease outbreak. Quoting a certain villain, Let’s be modern. Expeditious.

Our M-28 version has a VERY short range because of the weight of the actually functional warhead and because of limitations of KSP physics, that would not take gently any further increase in launcher power (yes, moar boosters
failed us). Since the radius of the blast is several times the range, this version is nicknamed the Santana
, because it kills the Davy Crockett.

Changing the values of the fireworks, the launching charge or the hinge strength at the VAB/SPH would render the weapons system… not inoperable but certainly underwhelming.

Description
Back in the 1950s, the US decided to deploy a FSR-armed jeep with nuke ammo. Because that bazooka vespa of the French armed forces was too subtle for their needs. It had a range of 2 Km and a blast radius of also 2 Km. Survival is overrated, anyways.
And no, I’m not making up ANY of this info.

Credit where credit is due, the jeep part itself is a remix of the impressive McFlyever’s Willys jeep.
