Description
I give you a blast from the past - the VERY FIRST craft that my little girl ever designed on her own, without my help (other than to remind her in which menu each part was). The craft’s file has been deliberately be left in its 1.4.4. form for nostalgy value - and to ilustrate the point of the changes betwen versions.
A surprisingly good flyer, to be the first plane ever designed by a little girl all the way back in 1.4.4. But changes betwen 1.4.4 and 1.12.2 in how the suspension settings are stored in the craft file have NOT been kind to this craft. Before take-off, manually adjust rear suspension settings to spring 0.3, damper 2 (either by lowering gear and adjusting while belly down, or in the SPH). There’s a scanner clipped inside the cockpit, but clickable from outside the plane, to provide inflight position coordinates, but no AG is set for it - it has to be manually activated.
Besides the suspension troubles, it’s still a quite good flyer with wagonloads of range at transonic speeds and USED to have unexpectedly good rough landing capabilities - quite a nice exploring craft.
A stock aircraft called Leonor. Built with 18 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark1Cockpit.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.4.4.
