Description
A variant of the Osprey high-performance (and high-risk) seaplane, the Drainsprey is designed for those crazy daredevils who think engines are overrated but still want to be able to land anywhere wet or dry on Kerbin - or anywhere else for that matter. Removal of he afterburning Panther turbofan for a whole bunch of overclocked drain valves (one for each of the 32 tentacles of the Mighty Deep Space Kraken, Hail Him) provides stupid levels of neverending thrust at just the sacrifice of the thrust vectoring (which is for whimps anyway), perfect for strolls and sprints - both in atmosphere and out of it.
The outriggers have a hydroplane stretching between them, allowing the Drainsprey to step up
during its takeoff run in the water, massively lowering drag. Once you step up, it’s safe to take off. The outriggers are jettisonable, but they have the landing gear too. So don’t manually stage away the outriggers unless you’re planning one final water landing, however (or one very final indeed land landing
).
More importantly, the engine (once activated) is always providing at least minimal thrust unless you engage the parking brake. Yes, even in deep space. Bill found it amusing to slave the controls that way instead of selecting an action group.

To aswer an IRL question: yes, this is just a modification of a stock craft because the focus here is the experimental engine, not the craft itself.
Many of the craft I post are made with or by my 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14-old daughter - and it shows in the… peculiar humor of some of them.
