Description
The Ranger is a long-range spaceplane intended for solar orbit rescue missions. It uses 2 Nerv engines and has a total dV of 8400 m/s (5600 m/s base + 2800 m/s with the droptanks). After returning to Kerbin, Ranger can glide to the KSC for a landing, or use its parachutes instead. I haven’t tested it, but it should be able to land on and take off from low-gravity, airless bodies like Minmus. Ranger can theoretically land on the Mun, but the TWR is a bit low there.
The craft file includes the rocket launch vehicle.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.3.1.
