Description
The Kestrel SSTO is a mid-tech level crew transfer vehicle for LKO operations. It can carry 4 passengers and 2 pilots, using its powerplant of 4 Whiplash and 2 Dart engines.
Flight is simple:
- stage the Whiplash engines
- set full throttle
- takeoff around 120 m/s
- set pitch to 15 degrees
- stage again when the Whiplashes start to lose speed
- coast when apoapsis reaches 75km,
- burn to circularize
