Description
The Helix III-I was only changed minorily from the Helix III, Even though the III series might look very similar, and they have very similar uses, the Helix III series use solid rocket fuel for the first 2 stages carrying it through the thickest parts of the atmosphere, leaving the liquid propellant upper stage at a high altitude of 40-50km. because solid rocket boosters don’t need complex throttling mechanics or turbopumps or even tank pressurisation, the production is a lot cheaper, reducing launch cost, although it does mean that it can’t be shut down in emergencies.
A mod rocket called Helix III-I i2 DTM (Duna Test Mission). Built with 42 of the finest parts, its root part is Decoupler.0.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.6.0.
