Description
A mod rocket called JEV - Vimy. Built with 410 of the finest parts, its root part is mk4cockpit-1.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.3.1.
Jool Exploration Vehicle - Vimy. It is built as the mothership for Jool 5 Challenge, at Jeb’s Level. The 2 landers and the Space truck are included.
Inspiration for this vessel came from (link to be inserted as soon as I find it).
Notes on launching:
Lag!
Once you’re at roughly 2000m, engage Action Group 4 to enable crossfeed to the boosters; otherwise you won’t be going to space.
An ideal target orbit is 300km.
Launch, clear the tower, roll (‘Q’ or ‘E’) to enable an eventual 0 degree inclination (equatorial orbit). Keep your pitch to more or less 10 degrees until after you reach an Ap of 370km, then slowly pitch over to the horizon, otherwise you won’t be going to space. Don’t worry about losing velocity or passing your Ap, as long as you have an initial Ap of approx 370km, you’ll be fine
.
Once you’re in orbit, you’ll need to refuel. A lot. Those refuellers will be posted after I upload their episodes to my channel.
The unrecognised parts seem to be from the Alpha Dev Branch of Modular Launch Pads.
Enjoy!
