Is this an F-series fighter jet?
No! This is PTRK! // So, I wanted to make something zippy and compact. This baby ended up being everything I hoped for and more. Inspired by erasmusguy’s Ubiquitous Modern Fighter series (seriously, look them up here on kerbalX, if you haven’t seen ‘em. They’re B.A.), I thought I’d slap a reaction wheel on a tiny jet and make runs around KSC. Boy howdy, was that a good idea! This thing is so fun to fly! Go ahead and give it a download if you’re looking for a plane that will take laps around KSC like it wants to. Important things to note: It lifts off on its own at about 65 m/s, but you can pitch up a bit to have it rise at 40 m/s. One cockpit is backwards; in the SPH, it is the bottom of the two cockpits in the kerbal-assignment menu. The default seat faces forward. Both IVAs are pretty sweet, though, and I bet it would be even cooler with rear-mounted turrets from BDArmory (just sayin’ try it out and let me know). Action 1 toggles the engine. All of the craft’s torque can be toggled with the action 2. I recommend disabling the torque only if you intend to drive PTRK around on the ground, as the reaction wheels will heavily drain the battery while turning. Oh, and the front landing gear turns, by the way. Landing flaps / air-brakes are activated with action 3. Both ladders are action 4.
A stock aircraft called PTRK Star (Stock). Built with 56 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark2Cockpit. The front cockpit is the root.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.4.

Don't forget, people build craft at all skill levels, just 'cos something is 'newbish' doesn't mean it needs hatin'.
