The M.O.R.S.E., Munar Orbtial Research Science and Exploration, Station came about from a Kerbin Space Station contract pack’s contract. It holds 5 kerbals and has stock science-collection parts so your scientists don’t get bored in the lab. It features 3 docking ports, attached to the totally tubular hallways array (yeah, that section doesn’t have an actual name; the mk1 fuselage pieces). I like this set-up for being modular and expandable, but also because it looks like a legitimate space for kerbals to transverse the station. Important things to note: The kerbals prefer the Comms DTS-M1 for their transmissions, hence it will stay closed after having been used once. Launch is a breeze. Point to the Mun and go. It’s hecka over-engineered to make sure it gets desired Munar orbit. This thing is an efficient one-piece launch, but, arguably, impractical in a stock career save. However, in science mode (with plenty of research science ahead of time) or sandbox, MORSE is a fine starter piece for an expandable space station.
A stock rocket called MORSE + Lifter (Stock). Built with 79 of the finest parts, its root part is Large.Crewed.Lab.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.0.4.
