This plane is dope. It maneuvers in a way that is tight, yet very smooth - almost natural and not arcade-y. However, due to weight, it has trouble breaking mach, even with afterburners engaged. That being said, it’s loaded with 1200 units of fuel (3 mk1 fuel tanks line the body, and there are 80 units locked into the nose tank for ballast). Even at half fuel, 600 units, it just doesn’t want to pass 320m/s. Frankly, I couldn’t care less when the thing has a stall speed of 11m/s and can practically land on top of the VAB. I was able to get touchdown several times, but it doesn’t have the break torque to stop unless you’re coming in at about 20m/s (which is totally possible, I’m just not always too patient). And on that note, you’ll want to be landing as slow as you can manage - generally around 50m/s is fine, because it could topple thanks to the gear being a bit close together. So, yeah, it’s undoubtedly a STOL, just a bit of a finnicky one when landing.
