// So I really wanted to replicate a P-38J, but saw all the curved wings and thought to myself, that is not happening.
But the P-38 is one of my all-time favorite planes, and I couldn’t just not build something like it. (Double negatives like double engines.) I mean, have you seen ‘em? They’re so cool! Goofy cockpit-pod, crazy wing design, I just love the thing. This version is pretty legit. Don’t expect it to run laps or out maneuver, well, anything. But it flies and looks damn good while doing it. And lands, too, of course; maiden flight, I went IVA view the whole time, from lift to land, and found you’re gonna want to pitch down a bit at touchdown and then pitch up after 40-50 m/s to keep all the wheels flat. Important things to note: Nothing, really. Plan a mission somewhere far, set your heading, and let her go.
A mod aircraft called Klockkeed KP Thunder (KAX). Built with 74 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark2Cockpit.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.4.
