Description

I wanted to get into FAR, but couldn’t get passed the learning curve. I learned quickly that FAR doesn’t like my wing-on-wing technique. Thus, many of my planes didn’t fit the model. All but 3 (all that I bothered to test, at least) worked: the F-9, PTRK, and Pratt (kinda). A couple people have been posting entry-level, training-like planes recently, but all of them with BDArmory, which I don’t have. So, I figured I better just hunker down and figure out what works. Thankfully, I already did! Meet the FAR-Trainer 2-01 Spoats Le! It takes off on its own at 80m/s and flies smooth. As well, this is the craft I’ve been using to learn how to land, and it’s serving me well. Important things to note: No fancy action groups; I just hold the brakes, hit T, Z, Spacebar, then let her go. All the flaps are set up appropriately. Both fuel tanks are at 60%, you really don’t need more. Manually reverse the thrust and invert back steering if you intend to reverse on the ground.
A mod aircraft called FT-2-01 Spoats Le (KAX). Built with 26 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark2Cockpit.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.4.
