A low-tech, facility entry-level solution to collecting science around Kerbin.
Description
// ¨As in, practical ¨// ¨2 goo, Science Jr, thermometer ¨// ¨Wing tips deactivated by default ¨//
This thing is is for early career / science mode. It takes off at about 35 m/s without touching the controls. I wanted to make something small and efficient to be unlocked with entry-level parts, no higher than tier 4 on the stock tech tree. Plus, I gave it science! A Science Jr., 2 goo canisters, and a thermometer. The thing flies relatively slow, cruises around 80 m/s, but maintains a fair amount of stability and maneuverability and can still fly at speeds as low as 30 m/s. It’s a piece of cake to fly from take off to landing. Give it a go if you want a low-tech, easy to fly, practical aircraft (that looks pretty good, too). Important things to note: The tail fins on the wing tips are deactivated by default. It rolls plenty fine without them. But, of course, feel free to turn ‘em back on. It’s your plane now, do what you like!
A mod aircraft called A7iv Pratt (KAX). Built with 27 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark1Cockpit.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.4.
leBhuji be like: I think I’m getting better at angling wing pieces to get a more air-foil-like look to them. Let me know what you think! Or, any suggestions, at all, are great. Cheers.
