Gemini Agena Target Vehicle with Atlas Launch Vehicle

A stock + DLC rocket called Atlas Agena. Built with 174 of the finest parts, its root part is solidBooster.sm.v2.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.12.2.

This is a Stock/DLC replica of the Agena spacecraft used during Project Gemini missions flown in 1966, to develop and practice techniques demonstrating the feasibility of landing on the moon, including most importantly, the rendezvous and docking of two spacecraft in orbit.

The Atlas is a 1.5 stage rocket. Stage off the booster engines at approx. 20-25K altitude and continue burning to space/desired apoapsis. The Agena stage should then take over to circularize the orbit.

GATV includes Primary and Secondary Propulsion systems. Toggle those on/off with AG’s 9 and 0. Includes probe control, EVA handhold, surface scanner, and Gravmax experiment to simulate the micrometeoroid package. GATV has enough fuel for some orbital operations with a combined docked spacecraft.

The Agena doesn’t have a proper RCS configuration for active docking, it’s meant to be a passive target. If you’re using this with my Gemini craft file, you can remove the docking port if desired, since it uses a Claw Jr to dock.
