Description
A mod aircraft called TB-3 AM-34RD. Built with 288 of the finest parts, its root part is structuralPanel2.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.2.
The Soviet TB-3 heavy bomber was a world leader in the 1930s; the world’s first all metal cantilever 4 engined bomber with a ridiculous payload and very long range for its time.
I built this replica craft as a means to test if the old Soviet designs really could take to the air, what with their ridiculously low powered engines and very heavy weight. They however had massive wing area and the mutual will of the proletariat!
The TB-3 replica is very easy to handle. A tailsitter configuration, she takes to the skies at 16 m/s and cruises at 20m/s+. All you need to do is spin the props with the 1 key and increase propeller pitch by use of the “ key. Oh and be sure to turn on the fuel cells with the 2 key! The engines are pure electric; there are no hidden jets in the aircraft and the propellers are spun by Infernal Robotics Rework motors.
