simply put, Nova told his engineers, i want something thin and portible thats capable of carrying a kerbal at Mak 3 without blowiing up and the engineers delivered giving it a width of only 3.4 meters it also has a built in radiator to help stop the cockpit from overheating. It includes a built in abort system in case of engine failure to save the pilot. this is also commonly used as Nova’s personal aircraft
