KOPTER MADNESS

The R-2 is based on it’s real world counter part, the Sikorsky R-4. The R-4 was the very first MASS produced helicopter and the first to be used by the US Armed Forces. Developed directly off of the knowledge and hardware attained from the VS-150 (just like the R-4 did with the VS-300,) improvements have been made to the STOCK electric tail rotor and uses the K-15 Helicopter Crate Engine that is rated for 15 tons of lifting power (roughly 160kN). A tri-configuration tail rotor with a fixed 10 degree tilt counters the helicopter’s natural spin, though admittedly the SAS probably handles about 50% of the stability. 35 m/s recommended top speed, similar to the R-4’s real world speed. Switch to the rear prop with [ or ] and Hold Alt + Q to trim tail rotor to max.
