Kermansky’s Realistic Jet Liner
After many, many, many hours flying the Boeing 737-800 in Microsoft Flight Simulator X, Kermansky Kerman had his team design and build a KSP equivalent. Like they say, Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
PLEASE READ FLIGHT MANUAL BEFORE OPERATIONS
Details
- Type: SPH
- Class: ship
- Part Count: 183
- Pure Stock
You may activate the dual-wheesley APU system with AG5 if you require electrical power while on the ground. Set brakes on and Engines off when using the APU.
Pre Flight Check
You must manually check that all flaps deploy in the correct direction. TEST on runway
During development, it was discovered that deploy direction is COMPLETELY random in KSP. Even if set correctly in the VAB, the flaps may deploy in the incorrect directions upon vehicle unpack.
-Flaps 3 Should all deploy downward
-Flaps 4 Should all deploy upward
-Spoilers Should all deploy upward
Take Off
The 737-799 is capable of self take-off and is recommended as the preferred take-off method.
-Set SAS to OFF
-Deploy Flaps 3 (AG3)
-Deploy Flaps 4 (AG4)
-Toggle Engines on/Orient NavBall (AG1)
-Set Full Throttle (Z)
V1 Speed is 50m/s (abort take-off now unsafe)
Minimum POSSIBLE take-off speed is 55m/s
Vr Speed is 65-75m/s aircraft will auto-rotate
-Establish Positive Rate
-Gear up (G)
V2 Speed is around 90m/s
-Retract Flaps 4 above 100m/s (AG4)
-Retract Flaps 3 above 125m/s (AG3)
Flight
The 737-799 is fully fueled and ready to fly for multiple hours with up to 146 passengers.
-Fly with Flaps 3 below 125m/s (242 knots)
-Fly with Flaps 3 AND 4 below 100m/s (195 knots)
-Cruise Altitude is 3000-7000m (10,000-23,000ft)
-Cruise Speed is 250m/s (486 knots)
-Do NOT exceed 12gs during flight, severe damage will insue
-Maximum Speed Recorded 300m/s (583 knots)
Landing
-Approach Runway straight on and at reasonable speed below 155m/s
-Deploy Flaps 3 AND 4 to help slow aircraft
-Gear Down
