VTOL?? Kinda?
Based on the legendary SSM-N-9 Regulus II used by the Navy in the mid 50’s. The purpose of this weapon was to be able to launch a supersonic cruise missile from the deck of ships or even from a surfaced submarine. Unfortunately, in real life, this missile saw minimal use as it was soon replaced by ICBM for cost and practicality reasons.
