A TurboJet based SSTO that is able to lift a 2.5ton payload to LKO built for medium tech space programs. Comes packed with a probe that is capable of reaching Duna. Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.2.
Very easy to fly (but has slightly odd actions groups)
Stage (space) toggles the jet engines, RCS ( R ) toggles the rocket engines.
Before take off cut the throttle, then hit space and then hit R. Now you can throttle up for take off.
Take of and pitch up to 40 degrees. Maintain that pitch until 5km up then pitch down to 30 degrees. Stay at a 30 degree pitch and at full throttle while still accelerating. As soon as the speed start dropping hit R to bring the rockets online (leave the jet’s running). When the jets flame out hit space to deactivate them. (NOTE: if the payload has stages, you need to create an extra empty stage between the active stage and the payload stage so this doesn’t stage the payload, although being inside the cargo bay it shouldn’t actually activate engines or chutes.)
Once you are running on just rockets hit the prograde button (assuming the pilot has that skill) and just let the craft follow it’s natural pitch. Raise the Ap to 75km before cutting the engines and coasting to the Ap and then circularize as normal.
Before releasing the payload make sure that it’s liquid fuel was not consumed by the jet engines (as the new fuel flow for jets might have consumed the payloads liquid fuel.
To land back on the runway from a 100km orbit; orbit until you are just over the east coast of the large desert and burn retrograde until the orbit is exactly lined up with the island to the east of KSC (not the island runway, the one slightly north east of that). Re-enter at about a 30 degree pitch and gradually decrease the pitch. You should be able to re-enter without out any reheat effects and glide right to the runway.
