EVA Pack mkIV
The EVA pack is a handy tool for station assembly/maintenance and can also be used as an emergency descent pack.
It has 2 small docking ports (1 front mounted, 1 underside) and 1 standard docking port (on the back), a couple of SAS units for stability when moving heavy objects, handy work lights and dual power generation (solar and fuel cell).
It also has two backup batteries on the underside which are disabled to start with, incase you run out of power.
Also on the underside are two Vernor engines which can be switched on for emergency descent.
This EVA pack has seen heavy use in station assembly as a versatile tool for moving station modules around.
To use the emergency descent select control from here on the probe core located just above the Kerbal’s head, orientate retrograde, enable RCS and hit abort (to enable the Vernor engines) and throttle up.
Before reentry select control from here on the command chair and maintain retrograde and the pack will shield the Kerbal from reentry heat.
Deploy chutes when ready and have a happy (and hopefully safe landing).
