The Base Hugger is a sky crane rated to take an 85 ton payload from a 35km Mun orbit to the surface, drop the payload and return to orbit for refuelling.

It has a load of SAS torque for dealing with unbalanced payloads, and the engines have been removed from symmetry so they can have their thrust tweaked independently if needed.

I use this as my primary means of taking things to Mun’s surface and for taking mined resources back up to orbit.

It’s high TWR and SAS torque make it really easy to control.

Unloaded it has a dV of just over 3500 m/s

The launcher (included) can take the Base Hugger to a 150km orbit, and is one of the most Kerbal looking things on the launch pad that I’ve built in a while. But it’s well balanced and launching is pretty easy.

The shape fits around large base components, and it’s tank design kinda reminded me of a face hugger
