This is an attempt to make a cyclic with flapping blades using claws because claws are reliable at high speed. This is indeed reliable at full throttle and there is no explosion or rapid unplanned disassembly. However the cyclic effect works only at very low rpm. I have not figured out how to make it better so I put it here just in case someone wants to build on this idea. I have to say making a working cyclic in ksp is very challenging and may require the work of many to solve, supposing it can be done. Just a note about the swashplate: because of gyroscopic precession it must be tilted 90 degrees in advance so if you want to tilt the rotor disc forward, the swashplate need to tilt left and so on.


  1. Stage 4 times to decouple and dock the components.
  2. Free the 4 pivots of the blades.
  3. Free the 8 pivots of the control rods.
  4. Stage again to decouple and dock the swashplate.
  5. Switch to the rotor with ] then free the swashplate pivot.
  6. Get back to the main ship with [.
  7. Stage to start the engines.
