Description

A generic fuelship or use two as injection booster for Hanger 28 or Hanger 13.
Upper stage uses a Rhino and has between 75% and 85% fuel at LKO (125 tons of fuel).
The Mastadon engines used to get into orbit save about 40,000 credits vs Mammoth engines.

Use one of these to refill Hanger 28 or Hanger 13.

When using them for tran planetary injection boosters, I’ll attach 2 and use another 2 for topping off all of the fuel tanks on the mothership and side injection boosters.

• For trips to Jool, I have the two attached boosters modified with an RTG and long range comms each so I can use them as low level fuel ships or orbital tankers.

• Fully fueled each booster holds 154 tons of fuel.

• Typical LKO yields 125 tons of fuel on orbit. (115 - 135 tons) of fuel depending on how good you are at gravity turns)

• When docking I recommend you line up and approach on the Z axis. As the boosters are pretty heavy this greatly reduces unwanted drift.
