Description
So, you ascend this one after assembling GSS 2 Truss
part on low orbit. Modular desine implies you disassemble this one into pieces suitable for your rocket, ascend and assemble on LKO. Then connect Docking port which is on top of the Node 1 with the port that is in the middle of Truss assembly and bobs your uncle!
Almost every part has its own gyro, fuel, comm, MechJeb and equipped with fully functional RCS, so assembling on LKO is a piece of cake even in full manual mode. Use MechJeb docking autopilot to make it easier - the auto assembly is tested in various package configurations
The only difficulty I found is constant re-root and joggling around with correct rooting to disassemble it in the way you need, maybe somebody is better at it, don’t know…
GSS Moving From Node 1 with :
- Airlock (Sarboard side)
- Node 3 (Port side)
Moving Forward:
Destiny (US Lab)
Node 2 With:
JAL (Port side)
Columbus (Starboard side)
Actions:
4 - Toggle Monoprop RSC Thrusters on Node 1 (don’t waste Mono while manuevering with Vernons)
