The third and (hopefully) more stable iteration of a heavy lifter capable of taking 40 tonnes of 2.5 metre assemblies to LKO. Designed for Ferram Aerospace. Can work in stock aerodynamics, but will need all Big-S wings loaded with fuel in this case.

On ascent use Flaps 2 (9 twice) to help clear the coastline. Go to Flaps 1 (0) or 0 (0) on ascent. Climb 20-25 degrees to about 8 km then begin leveling off to increase speed.

Try to get to 1200 m/s close to 15 km up and pitch up. Flaps will help. Stage Aerospikes at 19 km up and continue climbing. Turn off Whiplashes (6) at flame-out. It’ll take practice, but you can pitch up and use flaps to ‘surf’ the atmosphere to pick up horizontal speed. Try to hit 2000 m/s at 30 km up or more, then go SAS Prograde and coast to 100 km AP. Retract flaps (0) if extended and add thrust if needed. Close orbit at AP.

On return, set PE to 25 km above KSC, disable Aerospikes (7) and re-enable Whiplashes (6). Pitch to 45 degrees at first, then nose up or down as needed to reduce speed.

As you approach 25 km the Whiplashes can ignite. Use S turns, or pitch up or down, to bleed off speed. Air brakes are available but too much speed could rip them off.

On runway approach try to be no faster than 150 m/s. Use flaps and air brakes to reduce your stall speed, or stage the drogues as you gently touch down. Watch vertical speed.
