Don’t climb to orbit with no freight at full power

At 24 kms M 4.8 take VS 275-290

Between 27 and 30 kms , depending on overheating limit , adjust VS to 250 and keep it to 38km where OPT engines stop du to lack of air. Shut it and close Air intakes (AG 4 § 7)

At 38km your speed should be around 2070-2100 m/s Apoapsis to 53-57, Switch off RCS thrusters (AG 9) and Use Vernor engines if necessary and Coast to Apoapsis.
Establish 72kms orbit Burn retrograde cockpit facing Kerbin, aim 30kms ahead of Kerbin Space Center: cost 3-4% Fuel
Then switch off Nukes and SAS and at 60 kms altitude, Surface Speed is 1900 m/s, flip 90°with cockpit Vernors to Cobra position, sit on top of Navball, and keep it as long as possible.
Keep position with small Vernor impulsions and correct lateral deviation using RCS Thrusters in direction mode (not roll mode)
Normally you can reach 28 kms easily, no overheat at all,( maximum 870°) and speed will have decrease to 1100m/s under Mach 4.0
Then don’t try to pilot yourself at high mach, at 28kms, go on prograde, then select pilot assistant and use it to slowly reduce speed and VS. You can reach runway almost without using engines.
From beginning to landing 5% fuel maximum.
If it becomes uncontrollable, let it go, and let it flip, it’s strut and can struggle with hihg G load in red zone, even with freight docked inside.
After spin, Issue will be nose down 80° at 10kms, light on OPT and smoothly nose up.
Go inside the hold, select the docking and remove all.
Only the cubic octogonal strut that support docking port must stay
You have to get the MODULAR FUEL TANK mod to have the squad FT 800 tanks of AESV full of fuel
If not you will get Oxy (no use) and fuel
You may have issue with the
control from here on the Vulture cockpit (see Mark IV forum).
to get out of it, select Space Center, go there, go to the Tracking Station and re-select your ship.
