Description

A mod spaceplane called FAR Windblaster Cargo. Built with 116 of the finest parts, its root part is mk2Cockpit.Standard.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.2.

Run only with F.A.R - You won’t break Mach barrier on stock

Very long range Cargo SSTO - new design - FAR tested - Small cross section area and weak Mach wave drag - Repackable Drag chute allowing aborted take from 140m/s in runway limits

From Kerbin without refueling you can load a 6T (or more) satellite and:

  • Establish a 90 km Kerbin orbit

  • Burn to Mun or Minmus and establish a 250 km orbit to launch a 6T satellite

  • Then land on Minmus or Mun and take off to a new orbit.

  • Return to Kerbin and land with good fuel reserves.

-Don’t use at full power without loading cargo - it is very powerfull

Before take off

Roll control on take off is tricky and it is better to use Pilot assistant after rotation to control heading

Disengage RCS RV 105 Thruster (6)

Balance Oxidizer and Fuel

Set RAPIER Mode on Manual Switch, if you leave Auto Air intakes will not close on mode switching

Take off speed: 130-140m/s and V/S 50m/s then increase gradually to 280/300m/s

Climb

VS 280/300 m/s to 10000m

At 10000m gradually flare to reach 14000m at M1.7 and VS 30m/s to build speed

15000m M 2.9 VS 40m/s increasing to 75

16000m M 3.6 VS 100m/s increasing to 150 then 175 and Switch RCS to help with roll oscillations after 20000m

18000m M 4.1 VS 175 to pass

20000m M4.4 VS 175: Engage Nukes (3) and As soon as Roll oscillations occur, leave Pilot assistant and select Mechjeb Ascent guidance with turn shape 16% or if manually struggling keep speed and Mach around 4.5 and VS 200 max

Keep Nukes and RAPIER on Air cycle

24000m M 4.5 and VS 200-230 - Continue climb at constant Mach

28000m Keep M constant around 4.5, VS will decrease gradually to 150 (Ascent path turn shape 12%) - No more than 20° on Navball

Between 29000m and 30000m switch RAPIER on Closed cycle - Then no more Roll oscillations, you can switch off RCS

Climb between 30-35° on Navaball (45% turn shape on Mechjeb) to Apo 70km and keep nukes

After 70 APO shutdown 2 or 4 RAPIER and establish orbit

Re-entry

Kerrin Aerobraking: 45km deep entry: roll and flip but no damage

Speed brakes are very efficient to establishh New Apo and Peri on aerobraking, you can play for fine tune

Best re-entry is to burn on retrograde at 120° longitude before landing to get a very flat entry
