The Almaz program was first developed in the early 1960s as a direct response to the USAF’s plans to develop Gemini capsules and Gemini-derived stations. However by the time the first Almaz was actually developed the USAF plans had been completely abandoned. Some of the Almaz station structures were launched (notably as Salyut 2, 3 and 5) while some were converted to satellites. The earlier designs had the Almaz refueled and resupplied from the TKS spacecraft, plans were eventually scaled down by the time of Salyut 2.

The Zamkova reflects the original Almaz design from the 1960s which was launched with its own VA spacecraft in a fashion similar to the Manned Orbital Laboratory (MOL) being launched with its own Gemini capsule. In both cases the purpose was to launch the first crew for both stations with the station itself – a strategy that was abandoned in later station designs. The Zamkova has a rear docking port for my TPK-VA craft and a forward one as well concealed under the VA spacecraft which is available after the initial crew departs the station.

A periscope and a goo experiment give a visual representation of the powerful cameras that were the primary mission of the Almaz. I have also included an approximation of a small canister that can be deorbited on its own and parachuted to the ground where it can be recovered.

The station is launched on my NP5 rocket which is a scaled down version of the N1 with the first stage removed, this reflects the original Almaz plan where it would have launched from a N1 rocket with the first stage removed. even though Salyut 2, 3 and 5 were launched from Proton-K rockets.

Note - Not all the parts of this craft were detected
Some parts on this craft were not recognised. The craft is fine, it just means the list of mods might be incomplete.
The KerbalX knowledge base of mods doesn't include these parts (yet).
