There were numerous extensions and applications proposed for Project Gemini and one of the most extensive was the Manned Orbiting Laboratory (MOL) which was to serve as either a USAF or a joint USAF/NASA platform for space-based reconnaissance. There were a number of different designs for the MOL which evolved as McDonnell sought to extend the life of Project Gemini. The Manned Orbital Station (MOS) is another evolution of my MOL designs which extends the usefulness of a Leo-based space station through solar panels and three separate docking ports in addition to habitation and laboratory facilities.

The updated station launches with a Leo capsule attached to a special MOL docking port, it can detach and re-dock at one of two ports meant for Leo-derived craft. The station is meant to serve a regular crew of 2 with room for visitors which allows for regular re-supply missions or a regular crew of 4 which limits re-supply missions to the MOL docking ring port at the fore.

The launcher has been adjusted for the payload and may handle somewhat differently from my other payloads that use my Prometheus III-C build. The boosters and first stage fire together and should enough to get the lifter to the edge of space after which the second stage takes over and finishes the ascent, if necessary, and completes the circularization. A third stage, the metis transtage, is available to either boost the station further or act as a backup in case of the failure of the second stage during circularization. The transtage can ejected once you have finalized your orbital parameters or left on for future maneuvers.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.3.0.
