The Thor rocket family yielded many variant with the Thor being paired with a number of upper stages including the Able, Able-star, Agena-A, Agena-B, and the Able-derived Delta. It was also paired with one or two stages of Altair or Altair-derived rockets for delivering payloads into Medium Earth Orbit (MEO) as an alternative to the Scout and Thor-Agena-D which had previously been used for such missions. It would become the exclusive carrier for Defense Meteorological Satellite Program up until 1979 until finally replaced by the Atlas E.
There were a number of configurations, upgrades, and variants for the Thor-Burner starting with it including one or two Altair-derived stages and one or both of those stages could have a 3-axis control addition which added more precise control to each stage. There was also an upgrade to the Altair-derived stages called Burner II which made them exclusively optimized for their payload.
This configuration has two stages of Staara-37B solid rockets which represent the original Altair-derived rockets with the first stage sporting a MIPS-II which approximates the 3-axis control system made by Boeing. This should allow for precise control over the projected apogee but using using the second solid stage to complete the orbit.
The default mission is to place a satellite payload into an orbit that crosses between Medium Kerbal Orbit (MKO) and High Kerbin Orbit (HKO) but you can adjust the fuel levels in both solid states to change your final orbital parameters. The Fenris rocket will handle much of the ascent and put you into space after which the first Berandal stage will complete the ascent.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.11.1.
