This is my build of the Fenris Alpha-II from Blue Dog Bureau which is analogous to the Thor-Able II which is best known for launching the first low orbit weather satellite, TIROS-1.
This is a three stage rocket built from the Fenris Alpha but including a third solid engine stage for an extra boost. Since the third stage is a solid engine you won’t have the same precise control as the first and second stages, keep this in mind when launching satellites.
I have included a test satellite that sits around 500kg but the launcher should be able to deliver 300 to 800kg into either LKO (Low Kerbin Orbit) or MKO (Medium Kerbin Orbit). It can be useful for early communications satellites or more advanced Kerbin satellites in general. I’ve successfully placed the test satellite into a near-synchronous orbit close enough that the included RCS could do the rest.
Updated for KSP 1.2.2 with a new test payload.
Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.3.0.
