Description
A very lightweight SSTO which seats 5. Weighing just 16.5 tons and costing just under 31 thousand funds, it is the cheapest and most effective SSTO in our fleet so far. It has good handling and is easy to land, although the gear are close together.
The main downside is that there is not much dV available in orbit, so maneuvers must be extremely carefully done.
It is pretty easy to fly, lifting off at about 70m/s. It needs to be pointed almost straight at the horizon to pick up speed beyond 400m/s, however after that you can (try to) point the nose higher. It has a pretty low stalling speed as the CoL is close behind the CoM. Apart from the fact that the landing gear are pretty close together, it is very easy to land - it includes a pair of parachutes in the place of the nosecones I normally put on the side tanks.
A stock aircraft called Austurcum. Built with 55 of the finest parts, its root part is Mk1 Inline Cockpit.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.7.2.
