Description
The Lockheed M-21 was an experimental variant of the A-12/SR-71 family of aircraft designed to carry the D-21 drone, a small unmanned drone with a ramjet engine designed to overfly the target area with reconnaissance equipment, before ejecting the film over water to be recovered and self destructing to prevent enemy recovery.
The D-21, while promising in testing, was a complete failure operationally. It flew 4 failed missions before being retired.
The M-21 was even less successful, with one of the two built being destroyed after colliding with a D-21, ending the M-21 program.
A stock aircraft called Lockheed M-21+D-21. Built with 59 of the finest parts, its root part is mk2Cockpit.Standard.
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.9.1.
