Description
In the mid-1960’s, the British Aircraft Corporation tried designing a fully-reusable spaceplane. The BAC Multi-Unit Space Transport And Recovery Device, or MUSTARD, was the result of that study. Three spaceplanes launching attached, two acting as a booster and the third as the orbital payload.
The initial design was three spaceplanes arranged radially, but concern of the asymmetric forces as the two booster craft would lose fuel weight much faster led them to redesign it to be two booster craft mounted top and bottom to the central craft, however I liked the look of the radial arrangement and made that work.
And thus was born the KAC
