Description

The Large Multipurpose Launch Vehicle was the result of a NASA study of the economics of what are now called Big Dumb Boosters, large launch vehicles with massive payloads and a low tech brute force method of trying to improve the economics of spaceflight.. With the core stage’s 860 inch (21. 84 meter) diameter, it was proposed to have up to 12 solid rocket motors up to 260 inch (6.6 meter) in diameter each to help it lift off.

Like the Sea Dragon it was to be sea launched, although the LMLV was to be launched from a seaborne platform rather than being submersed.

This configuration was the shortest fairing proposed, and though these are the largest solid rocket motors in Kerbal Space Program they are significantly smaller than those in the study.

A stock rocket called Boeing LMLV. Built with 766 of the finest parts, its root part is HECS2.ProbeCore.

Built in the VAB in KSP version 1.9.0.
