Description

With max 45T payload, hold 10deg AOA. Light OMS after peak heating and hold AOA. Don’t drift toward prograde until time to apo increases. Makes 1650+m/s on jets due to the super-fugly high temp nose bay!

Unloaded: hold 20deg and wear your Nomex suit!

Due to drag optimization for hypersonic flight, doesn’t fly great at low speed. Recommend dump the payload, dump excess propellant (with ABORT key - oxidizer will run out first, tap ABORT again to stop dumping while you still have some liquid fuel), and maintain 120m/s.

Action Group 1 to switch RAPIER mode - but don’t; you never need their inefficient rocket mode at all for normal operation.
AG2: toggle the Wolfhound OMS
AG4: open cargo bays in orbit for cooling, comms, docking lights, and translation thrusters

RCS: this craft is built compatible with MandatoryRCS or other reaction-wheel nerfs, so it can fly with all-RCS attitude control. RCS key will open the nose service bay to expose the pitch/yaw thrusters - shouldn’t be needed until you’re in space on ascent. Keep it on/open on reentry: RCS helps hold the nose up, along with the control surfaces also hidden in the nosebay. Deactivate RCS once you gain aero control.

Very sleek and efficient in aero flight with a low of aero optimizations and cheats. All engines shielded from drag with fairings, RCS and reentry control surfaces hidden in service bay, nose heatshield nodes closed and shielded from drag, front landing gear inside cargo bay, minimal air intakes, wing angle optimized for hypersonic ascent… You might need to give yourself more approach time than you’re used to in order to slow down by drag. If you need to slow down NOW, tighten your restraints and lower the landing gear - exposing the cargo bay contents to drag and yielding ~8G of eyeballs-out fun!

Front of cargo bay is designed for the Connected Living Space mod - no need to transfer magically through fuel tanks. Don’t remove it - it’s part of the necessary fuel load and dynamic balancing so CoM doesn’t shift during flight.

A stock aircraft called Sundiver SSTO. Built with 101 of the finest parts, its root part is mk3Cockpit.Shuttle.

Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.12.1.
