Description

After realizing that all aircraft in the fleet were cargo transports or fuel tankers, the first passenger aircraft was put into design. Seeking inspiration, a cool design with an in-wing passenger cabin was found and prototyping began. Not realizing the source for the plans was from the 1920s, the engineers were stumped on how to recreate such obsolete technology. They resorted to industrial espionage of notable KSP prop and bearing designers, only later figuring out they were free youtube tutorials. Even then, the engineers still failed miserably at do-it-yourself designs while refusing to spring money for purpose built DLC propeller parts. Reinventing the wheel, the engineers finally got a working bearing after re-purposing large radiators to keep the propeller engines in place which would prevent them from oscillating out of control and chopping the aircraft into pieces. The propeller engines were not nearly powerful enough to take off. Jet engines were added but the craft still refused to unstick from the ground. It was realized that the rover wheels were disintegrating, despite the ruggedized word in their name. Actual landing gear were added underneath the replica wheels. Finally, desperate measures were taken and angled rocket take off assist boosters were added that got the craft into the air but only after using the entire runway. As soon as they got jettisoned however, the craft dove down like a brick and crashed into the ground.

In the end the failure of a replica would only be named as a parody of the real thing.
