Description

Lockheed F-35B (FAR). The Lift fan took a lot of space, I can only stuff 2 Aim120 and 2 Aim9 into the weapon bay, if you want more dakka you would have to add em on external pylon…. Vtol mode is tricky but I assure you it is flyable. Currently it can only do vtol or normal takeoff, can’t do short takeoff.

VTOL mode operation
VTOL takeoff: Ensure main engine thrust limit at 70%. Make sure SAS is on, RCS is on, throttle at minimum. Press 1 and 5 to start main engine and lift fan, Press 2 to swivel Main engine nozzle to VTOL position. Slowly throttle up until TWR slightly over 1, once off the round pitch down the plane to gain forward velocity. When you reach 60m/s, Press 2 to swivel engine nozzle for normal flight, press 5 to shut down lift fan. Adjust main engine thrust limiter to 100% if you want more thrust.
VTOL landing: Make sure main engine thrust limit at 70%, SAS,RCS on, throttle back to minimum, Press 2 and 5 to switch to VTOL mode, toggle airbrake to slow down. throttle up as air speed goes down. After that its a matter of skill and luck!
