Description
This craft is a working heli-plane and the built-in autopilot can keep it reasonably stable. The fuel cell stacks are enough for permanent full powered flight.
Controls:
1: Toggle Horizontal Motors
2: Toggle Vertical Motor
Custom Axis 3 (or manual setting of the Motor KAL
unit) for motor RPM.
Blade Pitch is controlled via Main Throttle!
CAREFUL: A throttle position of 0 will give a slight reverse power on the horizontal and vertical props! This can be used to push back or press to the ground.
Horizontal Take-Off: Toggle Motors (1), set motor RPM to max (Axis 4, or last play-position in Motor KAL
), push throttle to 2/3, engage autopilot, rotate at ~70-80 m/s.
Vertical Take-Off: Engange auto-pilot, toggle motor (2), set motor RPM to max (Axis 4, or last play-position in Motor KAL
), push throttle to 1/3.
While ascending, lower pitch to gather some speed. At about 900m and/or a speed of >30m/s disengage the vertical motor (with ‘2’) and engage the horizontal motors (with ‘1’).
Vertical Landing: Slow down, lower throttle to ~1/3,, disengage horizontal motors and engage vertical motor. Stabilise flight and lower throttle to adjust to a slow descent.
EDITING IDEA:
The wheel setup is bad and meant to match the original drawing. Switch them out for something cooler!
