Description
This is the update version of the SSTO created by Matt Lowne. It incorporates certain improvements over that design, while maintaining the airframe as faithfully as possible.
In particular, this has upgraded engines, capable of developing 2.8x more thrust, with throttle control, better aerodynamics and VTOL.
Action groups reflect Matt’s original set, with minor changes to RCS, brake and staging action groups to allow the vessel to be controlled in the Map screen.
Specifically, stage
is a master on/off switch for the landing leg drive, while RCS and brake activate low and high power modes respectively when engaged. Action groups 6, 7 and Abort change the landing leg orientation to forward, backward and upward respectively. Abort also changes the control point to vertical which can help with VTOL landing as you can lock to radial out.
The forward facing zompi drive is exclusively powered by the throttle, but it does need to be engaged at max and then reduced: it will not immediately work at low speeds from zero.
