You definitely could use the 48 tons of solid rocket booster to do a jet-assisted takeoff up to ridiculous speeds, and then deposit the 32-ton cargo payload into a handy low kerbin orbit. That is definitely something the Bosun can do.

Or, you can take off slowly and painfully, reserving a massive 80 tons of bombing ordinance at ranges and speeds that make defense planners cry.

With very little reconfiguration, the Bosun can be equipped with a first-rate intelligence gathering rig or a more modest and varied set of unguided or guided missiles. With 80 tons to the upper atmosphere, or 32 tons to orbit, there’s nowhere you can’t go and very little you can’t do with the Bosun Higgs.
