Description
Canadian jet interceptor / fighter introduced in 1952. The Canuck was the only Canadian-designed fighter to enter mass production, serving in the RCAF/CAF and Belgian Air Force.
~
The Canuck had a short takeoff run and high climb rate, for its day, making it well suited for its role as an interceptor, although it was not especially maneuverable. It was affectionately known as the Clunk
by RCAF due to the distinctive noise it made when the landing gear retracted.
The CF-100 served with nine RCAF squadroms at its peak in the mid 1950s. A total of 692 CF-100s were poroduced, including 53 delivered to the Belgian Airforce. Although only designed for 2,000 hours, the Canuck’s airframe was found to be far more durable, and could serve over 20,000 hours before retirement. Consequently some CF-100s served with CAF until 1981.
~
This model was built with 62 parts, to precise scale, and using appropriate engines, systems, weapons, colour scheme and texture wherever possible.
~
Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.1.3.

AedsPlanes are replicas of historic aircraft built as accurately as possible, and usually to 1:1 scale. Enjoy the experience of being a real Kerbal Airforce pilot!
(For added immersion, install flag mod World Aircraft Insignia by ChaseAEd and add real airforce roundels to your planes).
