Easy to use general purpose nuclear spaceplane.

Ideal for many kinds of missions within the Kerbin system.

  • Super easy to use, it practically flies itself to orbit
  • Can carry 6 kerbals
  • Cargo bay for up to 1.25 tons of additional fuel, science modules, small satellites, or other extra cargo.
  • Medium docking port
  • RCS system
  • Comes with an adapter for docking at small docking ports.

After reaching low Kerbin orbit, the craft still has 2900-3100 m/s delta v remaining, depending on the weight of your extra cargo.
Fully refuelled, it has 4651 m/s delta v, with a TWR of 0.32

How to reach equatorial orbit:

  • Turn on SAS
  • Accelerate at a low altitude until the prograde marker rises to your heading (which occurs at about a speed of 500 m/s)
  • Switch SAS to prograde, and leave it there
  • When your vertical speed stops increasing, turn on the nuclear engines (typically at an altitude of 15000 meters)
  • Turn off thrust when your apoapsis reaches the desired altitude
  • Circularize at your convenience

For a polar orbit: speed up to at least 900 m/s at a low altitude before switching to prograde, and turn on the nuclear engines at an altitude of 10 kms. Expect to have 300 m/s less delta v remaining than in the case of an equatorial orbit.
