Description
The Kestrel is an SSTO biz jet
for three kerbals, carrying them to orbit for less than 300 spesos each. Margins are tight but it can just barely make a 100 km equatorial orbit. It handles well, and flight to orbit is simple:
• full throttle, lift off ~120 m/s
• pitch up to maintain ~50 m/s climb rate
• once supersonic toggle Juno engines (4)
• level off at 20-22 km
• at max v (~1400 m/s) toggle RAPIER (3) and pitch up ~15°
A stock aircraft called Kestrel. Built with 56 of the finest parts, its root part is Mark1Cockpit. Built in the SPH in KSP version 1.0.5.
