Design Notes
The empty fuselage just behind the cockpit was a perfect location to add a spot for a much needed second crew member, the Flight Engineer. With the ability to manage an array of advanced science armaments and repack parachutes, the Flight Engineer is an important crew member to have on long range scouting missions.
The K.O.B. Cruise Missile is attached centerline on the fuselage belly-to-belly with the FA-41. After launch, the operator is expected to roll the missile 180° to its proper flying attitude. As the missile is designed to carry a rather unique payload, launching and attempting to fly it empty may result in loss of control due to weight and balance being out of acceptable range.
